It’s been a long week. We started the re- fi all over again and emailed the required stuff. what a PITA….. Now, we will have to pay some closing costs which in the previous one it was all included. Who knows what they’re doing. But we got a slightly better rate with this Harp re – fi. I had checked with our CU, but after an hour she determined our original loan was Freddie Mac and not Fannie May and since they only worked with Frannie May it was a wash. What a waste of time. Well, we shall see how it goes. Our goal is to have an affordable payment as B heads into his last stretch before retiring. I hate having to do this but , it’s that or sell. So, onward we go. Who know maybe we still will have to sell, but that’s not part o of the plan yet.
I took off the seat covers on my Heywood-wakefield chairs and now am ready to recover. I have some barkcloth I could use or I think I’m going with a canvas( painters drop cloth). It’s off white and sturdy. The last time I did these was around 8 years ago. So I got some good years out of those covers. So I’m going to pop into Home depot to get that drop cloth. I have one I did buy and used for another chair but it was fairly thick so, this time ,I’m going to get one a little thinner.
I went to Costco yesterday and did a pretty good shop. Kept it under $200 and got some dinners that are easy. Turkey burgers, black bean burgers and some frozen pizza. I’m not too sure about the pizzas but I thought I’d try and at least that might keep us from getting Round Table which is usually a $30 take out. Sometimes even cooking a homemade pizza is too much and a frozen just might do it. We’ll see.
Then I popped over to the Koffee Klatch. I told them I already had plans for the meeting week, and for the book sale week.My sister is out that week, so I’m out. I will do a couple of gift baskets and donate those. Now that Applegate’s hours are cut to 16, it’s really only a matter of time before they close the branch. Especially since circs will drop even more with very lousy hours. It might take a year or two, but I’m guessing there is a plan. Well, I’m done with it and it’s really a shame how poorly this library system is run, in my opinion. Of course, I don’t know but compared to the system my daughter works in it seems so. And the people where my daughter works seem quite genuine, not like Placer where you thought you had a friend but not really. Oh well, I enjoy the lunches with these ladies and will continue to go.
Well, off to do the Flylady chores.
Dinner is Friday night pizza. ( I think)!!
The book sale was a great success and then we had everything loaded for thrift stores by 3pm. Not sure if our final tally but hopefully good.
Sunday, was nice, walked and since it was a dex day, did some extra stuff. Not too much. With my sister coming I’m trying to get things ready. I need to go to target and get her a pillow and a few misc for her. It’ll be a challenge with my son sleeping out in the studio but we have no extra house room. The studio is nice , but small, and it’s where my daughter is doing her school work, so everything will be messed up for a week or so.
But exciting news, we finally went to ikea , which for us is an hour away. But we did it and I I finally got a couch. its the ektorp . I really wanted the more modern look but this was on sale and almost $200 less. So that decided that. And I got the farm table. I love the white. I love my Heywood Wakefield but as a table it’s not very comfortable. And it wiggles which I HATE. I’m going to try and sell it on Craig’s list, but usually stuff like this doesn’t sell.
so I’m pretty jazzed. Here’s some pics.
Well I’ll try uploading later.
its cloudy today and there was a little rain. I need to vacuum and steam mop the floors. This week is my oncologist appt, but it should be quick except for my list of complaints…
So, here’s our studio. It was my school room for homeschooling till z got into high school. Plus, everyone uses it for something. My husband plays guitar here, my daughter plays her electric piano. And I read out here. Since our house is small it’s been one of the best things we ever did. So new colors. I want the main house a way darker green but this worked out. My daughter is painting the inside. She is starting her MLS on line graduate school so we’re putting out the Heywood Wakefield desk for her to work on. I’m going to move our Heywood Wakefield dining table in our bed room as a desk. I was going to sell it as it wobbles unless it is against a wall, so now I will repurpose it. It’s actually nifty as it folds down (with the leaves out ) quite small. So a win win. Now I can explore buying a farm type table.
On another note, I’m 100% sure I didn’t have shingles but a chlorine burn from the pool. My husband has sprinkled shock that morning and he thinks it landed on my floatie. I think I overreacted, but it certainly was burning and itching. So I stopped the acyclovir. If I need it again, I’ll have some on hand. I’m still waiting to hear from Curascript . Not sure what’s up there. If I don’t hear by Wednesday I’ll call the nurse. Also, I had faxed my insurance reimbursement to LLS, midmonth. Well I called today and they never recieved it so I went to town and refaxed it. So somewhere in cyber space is my LLS forms. Next time I’ll just mail them like I usually do. I appreciate that I can get that grant and help monetarily.
So, I love mid century furniture ,specifically Heywood Wakefield. Here’s ( I hope) a picture of our table. I love this table, but am going to be selling it. why? Because , even though its called a double wishbone, there was a flaw in the design and the table wiggles unless it is against a wall, as shown. So it’s a difficult decision, but I’ve tried everything, so I think I’m going to get a farm type table. I’d love a midcentury teak Danish one but they are very hard to find and expensive. So , what do you think? Danish, farm type? Ideas?
